To the editor:During the American Revolution of 1776, the greatest military superpower on earth at that time, Great Britain, anchored its powerful naval ships in colonial waters of Boston and New York, ordered their soldiers and targeted their guns to shore.
Confiscating the colonists’ firearms and homes at the point of gun and threat of arrest, the British redcoats’ intent was to force the people to pay taxes and submit to their will.
Those once powerful warships have been replaced with IRS offices and a standing army of homeland security. Dressed in black, carrying fully automatic weapons they descend down upon our streets, homes and conventions with brutality of force and preemptive strikes on peaceful demonstrators. Government forces with guns, teargas and tasers, unleashed, all in an attempt to force Americans to submit, adhere to dictates and pay taxes to a foreign government: Washington!
